Robert Janson, MFin, FCSI
As Co-Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer, Robert’s responsibilities include the selection and oversight of alternative approaches to constructing diversified portfolios. Robert is registered as a Portfolio Manager (Advising Representative) and Dealing Representative. He is a member of Westcourt’s Executive and Investment Committees.
Robert brings to Westcourt a decade of international wealth management advisory experience from Switzerland and Canada. Raised in Canada, Robert left in 2000 to follow a career in Switzerland and France before returning to Toronto in late 2010. He joined a major global bank in Switzerland in 2006 as a High Net Worth Advisor within the ‘Executives and Entrepreneurs’ team in Lausanne, Switzerland, focusing on international executives based in the Lake Geneva region. During his time in Switzerland, Robert also taught Financial Planning for the Ecole Supérieure de Banque et Finance for students who were vying for their Swiss Federal Diploma in Banking Economics.
In 2010, Robert and his family moved back to Canada where he held the position of Director of ‘Ultra High Net Worth’ Wealth Management for all of the bank’s Canadian office. He was also an instructor at Concordia University’s John Molson Family Wealth Program. Robert joined Westcourt as a Partner in 2013.
Robert earned a Master of Finance degree from Queen’s School of Business. He holds two professional designations in Canada: Financial Management Advisor (FMA) and Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI). While in Switzerland, as a member of the Swiss Financial Analysts Association (SFAA), Robert obtained a Swiss Federal Diploma for expert in Banking and Investments. He also earned the European professional designation of Certified International Wealth Manager (CIWM).
