Michael Labrador, BCom
As Principal, Information Technology, Michael’s core responsibilities involve the management of Westcourt’s IT and Cybersecurity program, in addition to the development, implementation and improvement of processes across the various business units at Westcourt. He also supports the day-to-day operations and acts as the intermediary between Westcourt and third-party vendors on the company’s technology projects.
Prior to joining Westcourt, Michael worked in the Property & Casualty Insurance space in Professional Liability. More recently Michael was the Manager, Operations in a niche insurance market where he led a team of operations specialists and was responsible for client management, process improvement, rollout of new technologies and maintaining the integrity of the company databases. He also has experience in financial analysis through his tenure in underwriting. Early in his career, Michael worked for a mutual fund company where he supported the Shareholder Services department and special projects.
Michael earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Ted Rogers School of Business Management at Toronto Metropolitan University (then known as Ryerson University), with a Major in Finance and a Minor in Economics. He also has volunteer experience with the TEDxRyersonU organization and Toastmasters International. He holds the CC certificate and is currently pursuing the CISSP from the ISC2.
