Sungbo Shim, CFA, CAIA

As Principal, Research and Analytics, Sungbo’s areas of responsibility include the sourcing, evaluation, due diligence, and ongoing monitoring of Westcourt’s recommended public and private fund investments.

Prior to joining Westcourt, Sungbo was a Senior Associate on the Investments team at an asset manager responsible for the sourcing, evaluation, due diligence, and on-going monitoring of all external investment managers across all asset classes for a major Canadian university’s pension, endowment, and working capital fund assets. In this role, Sungbo supported all investment due diligence efforts in evaluating and recommending long only equity and equity focused hedge fund managers for the university’s Public Equities and Absolute Return portfolios.

Sungbo’s past experience also includes working as an Associate on the Marketing and Client Services team at an alternative asset manager. In that role, Sungbo was responsible for conducting quantitative analysis for all fund of hedge funds and direct fund product offerings with respect to the manager’s business development initiatives and client reporting.

Sungbo earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics-Philosophy from Columbia University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Charterholder.
