Mark Smith

Mark Smith

Mark Smith is the President of Pandion Investments Limited, a Private Family Investment Company owned by Bill Sinclair, the co-founder of JDS Uniphase, the world’s largest fiber-optic company.

Mr. Smith attended McGill University where he was a Rhodes Scholar finalist and obtained his business degree and CA. Prior to his current role, Mr. Smith served as President of Claridge SRB Investments, Chief Operating Office-Claridge Israel and Senior-Vice President Investments of the Claridge Group, the private investment management company that manages the affairs of the Charles R. Bronfman Family. Mr. Smith’s directorships include and have included Netstar Communications (formerly Labatts Communications), Medisys Medical Group, Venture Coaches, Osem Food Group, ECI Telecom Inc., The TNA Group, Campbell Resources, Crowntek Business Systems and Execaire Inc.

In 2013 he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for outstanding contributions to Canada. He is a member of the International Advisory Board of McGill University’s Business School, Member of the Board-Selwyn House School and The Nature Conservancy of Canada, Member of the Board and Chairman of the Investment Committee-The Montreal General Hospital Foundation. He currently Chairs the Investment Committee of McGill University’s PIC and is the Québec Co-Chair of Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee Scholarship Fund.

Mark is married (Lisa) and has five children, Philippe, Michael, David, Carolyn and Patrick.
